We offer two workshop formats:
(A) Basic use of camera, and (B) In-depth use of camera.
A. Basic use of camera
This workshop format is aimed at people with compact cameras or those who have just bought digital single lens reflex cameras. We can jump-start your use of your camera. Sure you can do it on your own, but it will take longer.
If you have the manual for your camera:
$30 for a 1-hour session
$50 for two 1-hour sessions.
If you don’t have the manual for your camera:
$50 for a 1-hour session
$75 for two 1-hour sessions.
Format A includes 30 days telephone/e-mail support.
B. In-depth use of camera
Components — Mix and Match
This workshop format is appropriate for people with compact cameras who want to process and print their own images and for owners of DSLR cameras who want to maximize their camera skills and also perhaps process and print their own images.
Evaluation — before shooting, after shooting or both
We review images with you to identify strengths and weaknesses. If you are shooting film, we recommend a session before shooting because we can’t review your images while we shoot. The 1-hour minimum can be split before and after the shooting session and does not have to be the same day as shooting.
Shooting at a local venue (15-mile radius from downtown Salem) of your choice. For more distant venues, Internal Revenue Service mileage rates will apply.
The longer you shoot, the more conditions and subjects you will face and the more you will learn. We expect to cover appropriate use of flash and filters, when to change ISO, exposure compensation and composition.
Computer (Photoshop) demo session
This component is for those who want to improve their images for printing and display.
Format B includes 90 days of phone/e-mail support.
Please contact us by phone or e-mail to arrange workshops. Please do not send payment until date and content are agreed.
All participants receive a 10 percent discount on future workshops.
